Hebrews 12:1–2 (Listen)

12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Devotional:

Minimalist Lifestyle

As a distance runner, I try to keep my clothing to a minimum so I am not carrying anything extra on my runs. Running lightly is a literal weight off my shoulders and allows me to run my best. As Christians, we must strip off the extra weight that holds us back during our daily life. We should strip the weight of our sin so we might run through life to the best of our ability. May that extra weight off your shoulders bring you joy and contentment by the grace of Jesus.
